- QHow to prepare rapeseed oil?AAt present, the most frequently utilized methods for the preparation of rapeseed oil are either mechanical pressing or solvent extraction (Ye & Liu 2023 ), such as hexane extraction (HE), which has the advantages of a large processing capacity and low production cost ( Guo, Wan & Huang 2019 ).
- QHow are rapeseed seeds extracted?AThe rapeseeds were milled using a laboratory mill (A11 basic, IKA, Germany) and sieved into 1 mm fractions. The obtained fraction of seed material (about 20 g) was treated with petroleum ether (b.p. 60–90 °C) within 7 h. The extraction of the seed oil was done in triplicate. The oil content of the seeds was 40.9?±?0.1%.
