FAQ

  • QWhat is crude palm oil refining?
ATo prevent iron oxidation, the storage tank is lined in a suitable protective coating. The oil at this stage is called the crude palm oil (CPO). The aim of refining is to convert the CPO to quality edible oil by removal of objectionable impurities to the desired levels in the most efficient manner.
  • QHow does palm oil recovery affect OER in Malaysia?
AThe oil recovery from PPF can contribute to an OER increase of approximately 0.46% to 0.6%. Out of approximately 450 palm oil mills in Malaysia, only about 10 to 15 mills are installed with the PPF solvent extraction plants. The total production capacity is approximately 1500 to 2000 tons of crude fibre oil monthly.
  • QHow to choose a suitable model?
APlease tell us your capacity(kg/h) and raw material, we will recommend the most suitable model for you.
  • QAre integrated biorefinery networks sustainable for palm oil processing in Thailand?
AThe objective is to generate alternatives (through synthesize and design methods) of more sustainable integrated biorefinery networks for the palm oil processing industry in Thailand. The products from the palm oil industry are valorized, and a selection of known processing technologies are considered.
  • QWhat is crude palm oil (CPO)?
AThe oil at this stage is called the crude palm oil (CPO). The aim of refining is to convert the CPO to quality edible oil by removal of objectionable impurities to the desired levels in the most efficient manner. CPO consists of glycerides and small and variable portions of non-glyceride component as well.
  • QHow is oil palm oil produced?
AFirst, in the production of palm oil, only the fruit is taken, leaving the oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) as a waste. Then, CPO is extracted by pressing the oil from the fruit mesocarp, while CPKO is extracted from the fruit kernels. The process produces oil palm mesocarp fiber (OPMF) and an oil palm kernel shell (OPKS).
  • QHow to improve the sustainability of palm oil production in Malaysia?
APresently, tremendous efforts have been devoted to improving the sustainability of palm oil production. One strategy is to improve the oil extraction rate (OER) during the milling process. The average OER in Malaysia has remained stagnant between 19 and 21% for the past 40 years.
